Ok, I’ll admit it. I’m wallowing. It’s November 1st which means I turn 25 this month. I don’t care much about 25, it’s more the years that follow it. I may be ridiculous but I am honest!
How fun was your Halloween? From 8am to 5pm I educated people who came to my office about blood sugar, weight loss, and cholesterol.
I discovered a little note from the ginorm spider that had been hidden all over our office building from the maintenance staff.
I was told that for part of the first spider day, it was in the elevator corner which scared every dietitian-so glad I was too busy that day in the office to take the elevator! I am someone who can be startled by my own shadow. Imagine me seeing a huge spider tucked up in the elevator corner!
From 5:30pm to 7:30pm I reversed all of my days’ hard work by handing out candy.
Each kid and over-aged 15 year olds were given one piece of candy unless a. they were a neighbor kid or b. had an amazing costume <—-homemade Charlotte’s Web costume! By passing out candy, did I ensure future work? (Kidding, kidding!)
I passed out the candy to the trick or treaters while the boyfriend made dinner. I was sent an email at work requesting Indian food to be our dinner, so channa masala it was! I prepped and roasted broccoli in between door bell rings. I figured if we ran out of candy, we could always give away part of the batch of roasted broccoli.
We did crack open a Kick!
Love that sour cranberry taste! I made sure to set this down before answering the door. And the boyfriend also took his kegerator off the front porch as well. There was still this pumpkin greeting the trick or treators though-
A few 12 year olds commented, “Screw City Beer Festival? Cool!!” Sorry parents! My pumpkin was a little more PG.
Every time I walked by it after giving out candy I’d enthusiastically say “Andy Schleck!!!” One trick or treater’s parents said, “A Schleck….the Schleck brothers!” Wow, I was impressed. I should have given them all of my candy and shut off the porch light at that point.
Dinner came together around 7pm.
We had a few more trick or treaters during dinner but it was dying down. We took turns answering the door while eating. Our last group was a bunch of street dressed 15 year-olds who asked the boyfriend what we were cooking since it smelled so good! He told them Indian food. Maybe next year we should offer channa masala and naan?
Yesterday‘s practice RD exam answer:
Ms Caroline was correct-iron deficiency!
New practice RD exam question:
What is the triangle test?

Do you have a recipe for the channa masala?? I have never cooked Indian food, but have always wanted to try.
And I also wanted to say I love your practice RD questions. Some of them I would never think would be questions that would be on the exam. Do you think that the new RD exam effective in 2012 will be harder?
I used Eat Live Run’s recipe! It never fails! I’m glad you enjoy the practice questions. From that I have seen, the test specifications are different in the distribution of percentage for certain domains. It appears they “regrouped” subjects and are putting a heavy emphasis on the entire NCP portion-50%! Ms Sylvia Escott-Stump told me that when taking the exam, if you get (for example) a food service question wrong, you’ll be given another to test your knowledge of that subject. So, you can have no weaknesses still despite a differenct distribution. I swear that I was bombarded with management questions because it was my least strong point. To answer your question of it being harder, depends if you have a weakness. I don’t think it will be harder, per se.
Thank you!! I’m glad to have your insight on the test which scares me. I read that the DTR test will asks questions from your weakest area so maybe thats what the RD test does too…I’m amazed that you remember all the questions that were on the test.I’m assuming though you are pulling from your notes!
I remember next to nothing from my exam-black out! And technically you’re not supposed to share questions that were on the exam. I’m pulling from subject matter.
