Observation: making my bed in the morning make me feel more prepared/organized for the day. Normal?
Normal for Type A personality? Ok.
My Tuesday starting early so I could drop my car off at Concierge (the opposite end the hospital where my office is located).
The amazing concierge ladies take my car to the shop, pay for it (they have my debit card information on file), and bring it back. It’s nearly like magic. I parked in the designated spot, dropped off my keys, and headed over to my office.
The work day started with a little mix up and learning lesson for myself. Did you know that a patient must be present in order to bill? So if a 2 year-old has a food allergy and is needing to meet with the dietitian, the parent must bring in their child. So my 8am patient turned into my 4pm patient. I was so pleased that everything worked out in that situation.
Not pleased with my phone call about the cost of my car repairs. Of course my back brakes needed to be worked on in addition to the front brakes. How are you to really know if it’s necessary as the customer (ok other than crawling under your car and knowing what you’re looking for). Another point I’d like to make after discussing my old, favorite mechanic yesterday: who could you trust more than your mechanic brother? If you’re in California and need a mechanic with a pure heart-see my brother!
I am officially on a budget despite having adequate funds to pay for my car and despite celebrating a birthday in the city this weekend. More to come on here about grocery budgeting.
No run after work happened. I needed a rest day which resulted in a cleaning session. I figured having a messy apartment could only reflect high running mileage!
Made a quick dinner after getting caught up with cleaning (crazy Tuesday nights!). I now have tons of quinoa to use after stocking up at the Whole Foods bulk bin.
I’ve been eyeing this recipe for a while to use and have been waiting for corn on the cob to appear in stores. (I discovered that the recipe makes a huge amount!)
Results of the black bean, quinoa citrus salad-it needs to wait for summer to be spectacular. And more avocado for me next time! Loved the concept and all the situation possibilities of this salad (traveling, picnic, quick work lunch, etc). I thought it was maybe overkill having roasted green beans on the side but it made for a nice switch up of flavor.
After cleaning the kitchen I rewarded myself with a Totally Naked.
Tastes better out of the other glasses. I swear!
Cheers to your Wednesday!
