Sunday funday? No. Sunday rest day!
After an incredibly busy week and Saturday, my body took strike yesterday. My body agreed to make me feel dehydrated and for my right hip to be sore in order to keep me from moving much.
Backing up to Saturday after my 9 mile run. I ate breakfast and took one of the best showers of my life. Showers feel fan-freaking-tastic after a long, hot run. I put together a dinner plan and grocery list and was asked to join in a Red Mango visit. Aaron works at a wine shop next door to a Red Mango.
I’m not crazy about Red Mango. I will happily go to a Yogurtland though!
I first needed to stop at Great Harvest for more honey whole wheat bread. I couldn’t resist a free slice of bread.
I liked and yet didn’t like this roasted garlic bread all at the same time.
I then gave Red Mango a chance.
White peach, honey badger (!!), and pomegranate made it to my cup along with mango. I jokingly asked Aaron why the mango was red. The high school kid worker joined in to explain that the peel was red. Thanks. And I still don’t like your yogurt.
I spent the rest of the afternoon grocery shopping between 2 different stores (yes, I am crazy). I came home and was spent. I snacked on cherries until I couldn’t take it any longer.
Once I determined that I was staying put for the night, I began making dinner. I went for my usual carb, energy meal as of lately.
Homemade crust topped with crushed tomatoes, red onion, and yellow bell pepper. I was so hungry but only 3 slices stuffed me. I did run 9 miles earlier-right?
Before going to bed I ate a Sugarjones cupcake.
That place is going to be seeing me every Saturday till this half marathon is over. Then I will get a grip on my cupcake addiction.
I especially wanted to eat before going to bed because I knew I’d wake up Sunday morning hungry. And I was. I made a quick, light breakfast to eat while I read in bed after waking up.
Toast with sunflower butter and blueberry preserves. I hadn’t finished part 1 of my breakfast before I was asked out to join Aaron’s family for breakfast. I had a light breakfast out but went heavy on the water. I was feeling a tad dehydrated.
Unfortunately/Fortunately we ate at a restaurant that was right next door to Sugarjones. More cupcakes. Aaron hadn’t been to the store and wanted to stop in. He bought 2 cupcakes. One being the chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake.
This cupcake! Oh this cupcake!
Cookie dough center? It just can’t get any better!
I spent the rest of my Sunday washing clothes and sheets and stretching my hips. It must have helped because I woke up with no hip pain. I was clear to run!
I decided to turn hill Mondays into another tempo run day. I quickly was welcomed by the humidity this morning.
I ran 3 miles, “red-lining” every .5 miles.
Totals: 3.00 miles 26:56 8’58″
I haven’t seen a sub 9 minute mile since before my little foot injury!
Plan for the day: hydrate, morning of RD only appointments (likely a lot of weight loss appointments), cardiac rehab, more hip stretches, and as usual-make dinner.
