Good morning! Quick post because I ran 5 miles and still have wet hair and an 8:30 am deadline to be at work!
Dietitian Business
I used an interpreter for one of my patients yesterday-sign language! It was pretty neat. I’ve used them a few times before. The first time I used one I had to learn how and when to speak. Example: if patient is reading something, I can’t be talking because they aren’t looking at the interpreter. Seems simple but it’s far from how we’re used to speaking.
Lunch was leftovers.
But no cookies were consumed despite them setting right in front of me.
I shall save my discretionary calories for Sugarjones cupcakes and good beer.
5 O’clock
After work I relaxed for 15 minutes and jumped on dinner. So much for doing hip stretches.
Dinner was black bean tacos and kale chips!
I love when I can find no trans fat tortillas.
I opt for refined flour tortillas over whole grain tortillas to avoid the trans fat. There is plenty of fiber in the taco.
I roasted corn, onion, and bell pepper with olive oil, paprika, oil, and cumin while the black beans were roasted with olive oil, salt, onion powder, and chili powder. The bottom of the tacos had plain Greek yogurt with chipotle spice mixed in.
Kale chips on the side to squeeze in another vegetable.
I almost scrapped doing kale chips because I had to readjust the oven after roasting the other vegetables. I told myself to suck it up and just make the kale chips. So glad that I did because it provided a nice crunch to the meal.
Le Tour replay was the entertainment for the rest of the night. I had begun to watch it earlier in the morning.
Typical.
I went to bed and woke up questioning my 5 mile training. I did what Nike makes its millions (and billions?) from-just do it. I did.
The geese road blocked me per usual.
The last one hissed the entire time I went through the tunnel of geese. Outta my way!
My run went fine considering I felt like I was being suffocated with humidity! At 3.5 miles my brain was telling me to quit running and to walk. I forged on because I didn’t have the time to spare!
I also told myself to suck it up (again) because on Saturday I’m running double the distance.
I was a taaaaad sweaty.
Running is not always pretty!
