Let’s talk about my run this morning. I woke up in denial. I wanted to say in bed. Monday at 5 am is never well received.
I pushed myself out of bed. I took 10 steps and thought, I shouldn’t run if my foot still hurts (note: I haven’t been vocal that my foot still bothers me especially after long runs). Quick analyzation said that my foot felt fine.
I was almost set to go and became frustrated again that my left shoe just feels so much tighter than the right shoe. I’ve determined shoe tightness is what caused my foot pain. I glanced down at my shoes and saw it!
Ah-ha! My left shoelaces had been laced into the tongue loophole! This is what was making it so darn tight! I un-lopped the shoelaces and felt an immediate difference. Really? A loophole was causing all this pain?
I forged on in 79* heat and humidity.
The thought of quitting crossed my mind within 10 steps. I was feeling foot pain but it quickly went away. #persistence
I completed my planned 3 mile tempo run. As usual I hated mile 1.
I need to start warming up and then start my runs. I’ll be honest, this pace problem is driving me crazy.
Run totals: 3.02 miles 27:53 9’14″
I was feeling GI discomfort when my run finished. I felt faint. I had to coax myself to keep walking back home.
I made it home.
Two minutes on the floor and I was feeling better. I should have cooled down with my run to avoid this. Lesson learned.
And I was back up for chocolate milk!
Fun Nike mile marker reached.
