Another morning of waking up and realizing I fell asleep before watching the Olympic results! Daaang it!!
Luckily I checked MSN website mid-afternoon and was told the results against my will.
August 1st means my July training is in the books.
It wasn’t my best month. The first week I had to keep off my foot as much as I could to let it heal. That week stole my pace. I’m still working on that. Either way, I’m running my half marathon this month!
I’m excited for the run, but also excited to spend the weekend in Madison! Find me a person who doesn’t love Madison.
Dietitian Business
My day was loaded with tasks to do. As soon as patients began, all of the start times were off and on top of that my pager died. I had no idea what was going on with patient appointment times. I gave up trying to figure it out and would just wait for the nurse to come grab me. As soon as patients were back on track, we had a last-minute patient show up to throw off my schedule again.
All the dietitians decided to go ahead with out typical Tuesday meeting despite our boss/manager not being able to join us. Our kitchen is missing workers so she has been having to cover for them. Part of being a hospital dietitian manager!
By 3:30, I had only charted on 1 out of 6 patients. And then I couldn’t find the charts! I had to hunt those down before I could start doing electronic charting. While charting I snacked on 2 peaches.
And then at 5 pm, I finished a chart that said I had started 7 hours ago. Crazy busy day.
5:30 O’clock
I took action immediately with making dinner and prepping other dinners. After cleaning my kitchen, I made pizza dough and began to simmer soaked chickpeas. Would you believe that 2 hours later the chickpeas were done?
That has never happened so quickly to me before!
Dinner was Mexican stuffed bell peppers. I made these a few weeks ago and had leftover stuffing that I threw into the freezer. While the peppers were in the oven, I asked Aaron to do something with the pea pods. He sautéed them with a tiny bit of olive oil with garlic and soy sauce.
The pea pods were so good! We could stop eating them!
I managed to stay awake for an hour after dinner to watch the Olympics. Then I crashed hard. Must find replays of Michael Phelps’ swims!
