I’m so glad it’s Monday. Really.
I am self-diagnosing myself with a sinus infection. Once you have had a sinus infection, you just know when one pops back up into your world. Unfortunately it has horrible timing. Congestion and head pressure are not the formula for good running. I knew my sore throat was a bad omen.
I still ran though this morning. I woke up in a nice sweat, stuffy nose, and forehead pressure. Great day for a run! Actually the weather looked amazing-in the 50s!
The sun is taking longer and longer to rise now. It makes me a nit nervous when I initially head out.
I headed for the hills despite losing my sanity on Saturday on other hills. My inner thighs were still a bit sore. And if sore thighs and a sinus infection wasn’t enough, a bug flew into my eye within the first 0.05 miles of my run. Most of my run was a blur through my right eye. No clue if the bug was flushed out or…is somewhere behind my eye now.
One more pace killer: my weakest week of the month is now.
Running stats 3.25 miles 31:38 9’43″
I noticed to have the most trouble going down the hills this morning. This might because my head is stuffed up which could affect sense of balance?
Must sneak away to employee health today!
Weekend Summary
A looming thunderstorm was of the few things that could get my sore legs off the couch and to the grocery store. I was trying to hard to get home before the storm arrived.
Rain began at Phelps Ave!
And then all heck broke loose on the west side of town.
By the time the groceries and myself were in my apartment, the storm was gone. Figures.
Dinner began early evening. I was ready to eat! Stuffed shells after 11 miles seemed oh so right.
I practiced all self-control that was possible. I waited to eat until the boyfriend arrived from work. He had a later night than usual. Love.
Stuffed shells and roasted broccoli. Oddly enough this filled me up. I have not had a crazy appetite despite all these miles. Fuel efficiency?
A few drinks left work with Aaron.
Belgian beer and Spanish wine. I took maybe 3 sips total. I couldn’t seem to get enough water all weekend.
What has been on my mind every Sunday morning when I wake up: carbs! I need carbs now.
I had no eggs though. I was determined to make pancakes work though.
Blueberry vegan pancake recipe: found!
Topped with cookie butter, plain Greek yogurt, and syrup. Spinach, berry smoothie on the side.
What I did not see happening but did-
Afternoon drinks. We had these drinks waiting and paid for after Aaron and I left a community theater play. Our friend had snagged an extra 2 mugs of Kentucky Breakfast stout on tap. It was a good move since the bar ran out of the KBS in 50 minutes. We arrived over half an hour after the shortage.
Starving, dinner was started immediately after our KBS adventure. Garden fresh salad with arugula and cherry tomatoes from the garden.
Shells appear again! The salad was the best part of the meal. Garden tomatoes stole the show.
The rest of the night was spent watching crazy Kenyan running legs.
I’m crossing my fingers that I am on a z pack by the end of the day!
