Mental function has not reached adequate function yet. I’ve already tried to heat up my oatmeal/porridge by putting it in the pantry.
What I can take in is what’s on the morning news right now-new NIU dorms. Fact: I may have had one of the worst dorms ever. Really. I’d love to hear about your horror dorm rooms..
dietitian business
I drove straight to cardiac rehab to save on time. Weight loss class topic was “fat.” No need to fear fat. It always comes down to portions.
Portions, portions, portions.
Your portion may be smaller than your neighbor’s but how does that help you? (I get that a lot.)
My one-on-one cardiac rehab patient was a great meet-up. I love when I meet a patient who can also help me with their profession in the future. Business card from them was accepted and tucked away in my wallet!
What a second, that was my Wednesday. Oh boy.
Yesterday was Thursday which involved diabetes class! My great class was interactive and achievers. They were losing weight and improving their blood sugar numbers. It was the last class so I handed out diabetes cookbooks. Patients love cookbooks. Heck, I love cookbooks. Don’t give me a diabetes cookbook though.
I had other outpatients but also just grabbed an inpatient floor’s screening sheets. When other dietitians are off, I tend to have an “oh what the heck, I’ll do it” attitude for snatching up floors. I am cautious with ICU, NICU, and pediatrics. I am out of practice with those. Well, I could do ICU. I just don’t snatch it up quite like I do other floors. Must get back into that game.
After returning from patient floors, I found a treat on my desk!
Reese’s pieces! Another dietitian dropped these off after I confessed of stealing one of them earlier from her desk. Hide your Reese’s pieces!
I spent the last part of my day scheduling my work days and patient slots. Taking days off work is so much work!
clocked out
I haven’t exercises since my half marathon on Saturday. I was needing to move. Level 1 Shred it was!
After running 13.1 miles, this was actually easy. It also could be my “I just ran a half marathon so I can definitely do this” attitude.
Dinner looked like breakfast. I had eggs to use up. Actually I still have eggs to use up since I needed 8 eggs and only had 7 eggs, so I bought another dozen of eggs to make this dinner work. Really.
First up was prepping the vegetables. I had planned for red bell pepper but um, used all peppers up and forgot about it. Luckily I had an alternative on hand.
Leeks and fingerling potatoes it was!
Ricotta topped the frittata.
This was amazing! Don’t skip the ricotta!
Roasted potatoes and pineapple to complete the yellow dinner.
I worked on a project for the remainder of the night. Details to come.
And I finally dug into my caramel chocolate!
My mom bought this for me while we Aaron was checking out the beer selection at Whole Foods.
Note to self: It’s Friday.
