Another weekend bites the dust! It’s ok though. I will have a 3 day work week next week. I didn’t realize how I was scheduling myself initially. What a great mistake, no?
I spent most of Sunday in the kitchen. First were the mountain of pancakes. Then came pizza dough. I’ve been failing miserably lately.
I summoned all muscle strength to pull out my “new” KitchenAid.
This was my grandmother’s and this was the first time I used it on my own. I’ve used it with her to make her famous oatmeal cookies. Yum!
At this point, I was really pessimistic towards pizza dough.
Double large batch-it better turn out!
A watched pot doesn’t boil and a watched dough ball doesn’t rise.
It took its sweet time to slowly rise. But did it rise enough? Come on, yeast!
As I cheered the yeast on, I also made baked oatmeal. I love heat-up breakfasts for work mornings.
I plan to drizzle nut butter over this and have a piece of fruit as my mid-morning snack since I feel like this breakfast isn’t stocked with fruit as much as I’d like.
My dough obsession caused me to want enjoy one successful yeast product.
Krankshaft for the win! Pick this up if you are near Chciago-land!
I further relaxed and stretched out with 15 minutes of yoga. I am really trying to slowly increase my yoga session duration. Yoga stretches out my tight hips.
I piled various pizza ingredients into a Whole Foods grocery bag and headed off to Aaron’s to give my dough the test!
Red bell pepper, red onions, mozzarella, basil, and arugula pizza!
With Crystal hot sauce!
I made another pizza with Friday’s dough. Not as successful. I’ll take 1 win. Dough frustrations and obsession continue.
Time to put on my freshly washed white (rather than the gray that it was as of Friday) lab coat and talk about kcals, CHO, CAD, CABGs, wt, GI, etc.
