It appears that my parents were on to something when they set my bedtime for 9pm as a child. I found myself in bed reading exactly at 9:00 and dozing off minutes later. I do in fact have a fear of insomnia. No one likes lying awake in bed 3:52 am with an alarm set for 6.

One of the first things that I do at work after putting my lunch into the break room fridge is pull up the outpatient schedule in Excel. I clicked on the “August 27″ tab and found only half the day scheduled. I had 3 out of 4 patients scheduled for my morning while the other track of patients looked might sparse.
And then only 1 out of 3 of my patients showed up. Luckily I had a full 60 minute session with that patient to use up a lot of my time. At the end of the 60 minutes I said, “So that’s just scratching the surface of this topic,” while the patient said, “Wow! We’ve covered so much.” #perspective
Over at cardiac rehab, my patients came flying into my office the entire afternoon. I spent so much time with them, that I had all 4 patient charts waiting on my desk to tackle at the end of the day. This was a glass half full look on the afternoon after my weak morning.
clocked out
Perfect way to end the work day: yoga stretches!
And then came the usual dinner routine. The beer fest muchacho was swamped with work like it’ll be for the next few weeks, so I decided to pack up food and take it over to his place.
I prepped ingredients before heading over since he was dropping off more festival tickets at a location.
I finally cracked open this cookbook after Aaron gave me this (plus another cookbook) for my birthday last year.
The chickpea and fresh spinach curry recipe suggested to finely chop the onion, garlic, and ginger in a food processor. I’ve never chopped vegetables like so until last night. Brilliant.
The cooking went well until the recipe called to add 1 cup cold water and then to simmer.
The water didn’t want to evaporate! Next time I must add only 1/4 cup of water. I chalked this up to experience.
Despite having a pound of fresh spinach and 28 oz tomatoes, I still roasted broccoli for a side.
This plate was filled with fiber. My stomach was a wee bit stressed even with adequate water intake.
And then I was super cool and left Aaron to do beer work so I could head home and get into bed at an early hour.
Today looks like a catch up day! I plan to make a large to do list today while seeing 2 outpatients and various inpatients. Must plow through side work!
