I’ve accepted that I am likely to do no further pre-work runs. It’s a little too cold and too dark for my liking. Running after work will have to do.

My day kicked off well at cardiac rehab. The 2 scheduled patients arrived. I arrived at my main office late morning to find a sad schedule. I didn’t have another outpatient until 3pm. Ouch.
I gathered up uncharted notes to complete, looked and figured out scheduling for a variety of things, picked up an inpatient education, did a little studying of meds. Finally 3pm came…and went. No-show patient. Dang. Rough day for outpatients.
Fun snacks at work included a Halloween treat (yeah, I know):

And my first honey crisp apple of the year.
I was ready to be disappointed but it was perfect!

I came home to knock out my strength training session. It involves The Shred with no cardio and leg strain. Must get a stronger core to help with running. Did anyone else hear about Jillian Michaels gaining ~5 pounds since becoming a mother? Apparently she declared a little extra weight will just be on her while things are hectic. Uh….yeah, so you and other celebrity trainers should stop ragging on moms for not bouncing back quickly.
Would you believe that I started to make black bean burgers and found that I did not have any black beans? True story. I texted Aaron to bring me 2 cans. Oh and garlic! He rocks.
So while I was at a standstill until black beans arrived, I whipped up baked oatmeal to get me through breakfast for the rest of the week.
It’s just too simple to make!
Black beans finally arrived. I whipped into action to finish dinner quickly. Once dinner is cooked, I relax for the rest of the night!
Aaron also brought over garden tomatoes that gave the burger more of a fresh pop! Crystal hot sauce made an appearance as well. Hot sauce gets so addicting. Julienned zucchini were on the side that provided a bit of crunch to the meal.
You know what else gets addicting? Grey’s Anatomy. I watched another 3 episodes. And I’m itching to watch the next 2 to find out what happens. By the end of those 2 episodes, I’ll be needing to watching another 2 to discover what happens with new drama I’m sure. Shanda Rhimes. You are good!
Today is a busy day at work! It’s just the way that I like it. As long as I can get outta there on time to get my run on. There is a 5 mile pace run coming my way.




Would you mind posting your recipe for baked oatmeal?? looks delicious.
I found the recipe from epicurious! I take a few short cuts such as adding ingredients (nuts and fruit) just at the start rather than doing it 2 different times. Other tips: use maple syrup rather than cane sugar (mixes better) and I tend to bake it for 43 minutes.
It also makess your home smell delicious!
