Buenos Dias!
Dang, we’re already at the half-way point of the week. I say it’s half-way once I’ve woken up for the day. That’s always the hardest part, no?
dietitian business
No sick dietitians resulted in a much smoother day. I was stationed in one place for the day. No racing all over the place needed.
I had 5 patients in a row from morning till 1230. When I am starting to feel hungry, my words start sounding a little like gibberish. I have to take a deep breath and focus on my words. Please feed me!
A short gap spanned my patients and Nestle meeting. I ate crock pot leftovers which tasted even better a day later. A mug of apple with sunflower butter went with me to the meeting.
Apple cider in a nice ceramic travel mug. My mom gave that mug to Aaron as part of a gift and I snatched it up. Thaaanks Mom and Aaron! ha-ha-ha!
The Nestle meeting was to discuss a new product, Impact, to aid in surgery situations. We looked at a study where the product was used prior to and post surgery. Length of stay and infection risk decreased for most upper GI surgeries. The magical ingredient? Arganine! The conditional amino acid which isn’t produced by the body when under stress.
I eventually left work at 5. On the drive home I realized I should have left at 430 since I came in a little before 8. That’s 30 minutes I’ll take from somewhere else.
clocked out
My stomach was growling when I came home, so I smeared a slice of honey whole wheat bread with cookie butter. I was impatient with waiting for it to digest though. I headed out for a 9X400 run. I quickly met the demolished path.
I occasionally had to hop around to avoid large rocks or barricades.
And then I stopped at 1.48 miles. My pre-run fuel was not happy.
I walked and then stood around for a few minutes for the horrible pain to fade away. It finally did and I was off!
Meh, this doesn’t show much. Running stats: 4.5 miles 39:46 8’49″ pace range: 7’21″ 11’27″
This run kicked my booty. And my booty is hurting from it!
I drank 6 oz of chocolate soymilk in 2 gulps, stretched out, and cleaned my kitchen. It sort of stops there because Aaron arrived and kinda just took over dinner!
My favorite butternut squash ravioli with garden sage, walnuts, goat cheese, and garlic! No vegetable because my last green vegetable had gone bad. The only other vegetable was acorn squash. Not the best side for butternut squash ravioli.
I rested my sore running body for the rest of the night. I caught up on How I Met Your Mother. That darn show plays with us so much!! Dark chocolate toffee interlude served as a nightcap.
So good!
….Anyone worried about the bacon shortage? Maybe I’ll see a drop off in cardiac rehab patients. More healthy hearts? A dietitian can hope.
