How do you recover from standing around waiting for your oatmeal to begin to simmer only to realize that you never turned the burner on?
I think coffee is the answer here.
What a constant busy day which is ideal! All my patients showed up except for the one who couldn’t because they were in the hospital. My “RD only” patient were pretty awesome. It was one of those mornings where I really accomplished a lot with each patient. One patient was scheduled for a follow-up appointment in the next month to come but may be switching reasons for referral after I assessed a certain protein in their diet. It reminded me that I am to be alert, ask detailed questions, and can make a bigger difference sometimes than even I realize.
I spent part of my time at cardiac rehab finalizing plans with a few other workers there for Bacon Fest! Irony, irony, irony. Aaron’s helping out Bacon Fest again this year and it is this Thursday. The slight bummer is that I won’t be drinking any EtOH and should limit how much of the food I eat. I’ll assess the situation as it comes.
It’s taper week and I sort of forgot….
I ran a called-for 4 mile run. Let’s note how perfect the weather was! It was upper 50* and minimal wind. I became pretty excited when I saw a flag barely moving when I came home from work. It was time for a good run!
Except I forgot that this needs to be a “rest” sort of week. I pushed it. Pushed it real good. No more of that till Sunday.
I did feel pretty awesome though for that pace!
Running stats 4 miles 33:04 8’15″
No regatta to navigate around this time.
Dinner was waiting for me as I came home. I totally forgot that I put something in the crock pot before leaving work. Brilliant. Yet I will say that I think I am over crock pot meals. There’s always that mush factor.
The lentil/legume stew had good flavor though. The grilled cheese was perfect though. There was melty mozzarella cheese and perfectly grilled crust. Yummm.
I really need to start mentally preparing for my half marathon this weekend! I am not nervous for it which makes me nervous.
