My legs wanted to stay in bed while the rest of me successfully woke up and correctly made pumpkin oatmeal and coffee for breakfast.
dietitian business
I thought I was going into a work day that would provide time to catch up on charting and even do meal rounds. I was wrong. So wrong. Meetings dominated nearly 2.5 hours. The meetings were very beneficial though. The first was the nutrition committee which involved the dietitians, 1 GI doctor, and 1 late pharmacist. We discussed a line infection case study. It was awesome! When the GI doctor spoke up about a few things, I took notes. I love learning from doctors. They give insight that we aren’t aware (and that can go vice versa!).
On our way back from that meeting I snagged a chocolate peanut butter eyeball.
We have a tunnel that connects 2 buildings which is decorated in Halloween pictures and moving ghosts. Oh and clearly a candy bucket!
Next up was a dietitian meeting which had me taking nearly a page-full of notes. We met for an hour which didn’t even allow us to address the entire agenda. We were able to address a binder that has been created for our med student classes. This topic was before its time….
After the meeting I approached my boss (boss’s day!) because she told me she didn’t receive my meal round records from last month. She took my word that I did them. World’s best boss.
My day was closed out with a patient who required a sign language interpreter. I have finally gotten the hang of how to conduct these appointments. Think about it…should the patient be looking down to read something or facing the wall while getting a weight, you can’t talk because the patient can’t see the interpreter!
clocked out
I doubled checked that I was in fact supposed to do a 30 minute tempo run. The training rumor was true. I decided I wouldn’t “red-line” it but would mimic a tempo run.
Looks good! My legs are sore for this run because of the day before’s run.
Running stats 3.39 miles 30:02 8’50″
Once finishing my run, I was greeted by this duck.
(It started running away once I brought out my camera). I greeted it back, “Hey duck.”
The run ended on time to catch this sunset.
Only two 2 mile runs left. More sunset runs, please!
Dinner was so good! It turned out way better than I anticipated.
Tacos with guacamole, roasted chickpeas, sautéed red onions and peppers, and plain Fage yogurt. No side vegetables since vegetables pretty much made up the tacos.
Like most Americans, I watched the debate last night. I was skirmish when things were getting awkward. This will be the debate that goes down as the “binders full of women” fiasco.
And on that note, I need to mail in my absentee ballot application!

Those tacos look awesome- yum!
