First morning of a heavy frost! I found myself scraping my windshields this morning at 6am.
I’m not hurricane-proofing my house, so I have no complains!
How was your weekend? Mine was great!
I was at ease knowing I had my work pager.
This little lady popped up when a coworker coughed it up Friday morning.
Aaron’s Friday night dinner-
Honey whole wheat pitas stuffed with homemade hummus, roasted zucchini and red bell peppers, arugula, and red onion. So, so good!
I brought over the beer that Aaron picked up for me earlier in the week.
New Glarus is a well-respected brewery in Southern Wisconsin.
It was a one-off beer since cherries did grow very well this year. This is traditionally only brewed with cherries. This year it was brewed with other fruit to bridge the cherry gap. I liked this one better!
I went for a noon run on Saturday. I ran for 60 minutes that resulted in 6.56 miles; 9’08″
This is my new shortcut.
I was amazed the first time that I was able to squeeze myself through the two posts. It cuts out two minutes of cool down time on my way home.
Saturday errands included buying bread.
Bread samples make me happy.
And a cider and beer tasting!
Aaron was doing this at work and I popped in for a few samples before grocery shopping. My favorite cider was Ross-on-Wye. It was very buttery-butterscoth-like and dry.
I thought that Aaron and I needed a nice dinner which salmon always takes care of.
I bought fresh salmon to bake. It was kept simple with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. It came out very buttery tasting.
The Sophie was brought out for deglazing the pea pod pan.
I don’t really care to drink this one though. Aaron finally drank all of it.
Another Saturday errand was cupcakes!
I’ve actually taken a break from these and felt I needed them. We quarter the cupcakes and each take 2 of each cupcake which is the perfect amount (for me). Flavors: chocolate peanut butter and almond joy.
Sunday breakfast was surprising.
We threw together this breakfast when we couldn’t settle of French toast or an omelette. Aaron cooked scrambled eggs with pepperjack cheese. The eggs were (again) so simple but so good! Cinnamon swirl bread and grapes of the side.
The rest of the day involved football, buying Halloween candy and a vacation book, and snuggling under a blanket.
This week I need to stay on top of all charting and productivity. My last day before going on vacation for 10 days is next Monday which is usually a jam-packed day. I can’t rely on catching up on anything on Mondays.
